Corbyn is attracting huge crowds as he tours the country
"A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behaviour."
Two days ago the Independent reported "Claims Jeremy Corbyn is an “unelectable leader” have become a self-fulfilling prophecy, one of his closest allies in the Parliamentary Labour Party has publicly said. Clive Lewis, who is Mr Corbyn’s shadow defence secretary and was not one of the MPs to resign last month, also said the Labour leader and his team had made “mistakes”. “It’s become a self-fulfilling prophecy that Jeremy Corbyn is an unelectable leader,” he said in a video interview with The Guardian Newspaper..."
On Twitter Mr Lewis called the report cynical journalism.
We understand exactly what Mr Lewis was saying but sadly some will simply read the "story" and accept it on face value with the hint that Lewis is turning his back on Corbyn.
It must be plain for all to see by now that the so-called establishment do not want Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party let alone Prime Minister of the UK.
So keep saying Jeremy Corbyn is unelectable and he will be.
But Jeremy Corbyn has shown he has "true grit."
He and his supporters are at times derided, called deluded and verbally attacked. His supporters have been referred to as a rabble, dogs and a bunch of Trots by some in the Parliamentary Labour Party.
With friends, or should that be comrades, like that who needs enemies?
But support keeps on increasing.
The mainstream media has been drip fed a series of damaging stories and whether they are true or not has been immaterial.
Take allegations that Jeremy Corbyn took a five-day holiday as the Labour EU referendum campaign for the country to stay as part of the Union entered its final days.
NEC representaive Christine Shawcroft clarified that on social media this week when she said "There seem to be stories going around that Jeremy was on holiday for 5 days during the Referendum campaign. He was quite clear about this at the last NEC - he stayed the night in Exmouth between engagements. So he was "on holiday" for about 20 hours!"
Will the lie be set right by the mainstream media?
Of course not.
Mind manipulation by the mainstream media and the establishment is nothing new.
But at least now we have social media, a platform that allows us to set the record straight and share on a grand scale.
In my opinion, such as it is, Jeremy Corbyn is only unelectable if that is what we want.
Instead on wasting a year undermining Mr Corbyn Labour Party MPs could have worked toward a Labour government with Corbyn as party leader and PM.
Jeremy wants a real change in how we do politics and so do his supporters.
The fact some in the PLP chose not to work with him and do not want real change perhaps says it all.
Remember he who pays the piper calls the tune for some but Mr Corbyn is not for sale.
