Yes attacking freedom in the UK is high on the new Tory government's agenda.
They have already set their sights on the ECHR, European Court of Human Rights, British human rights law and Trade Unions.
Home Secretary Theresa May has been pushing for more snooping powers since 2010. The Lib Dem coalition held her in check but the new government does have plans to introduce new surveillance legistaion or as it is popularly called in the UK the snooper's charter.
So the battle is won and not the war. Having signed a petition opposing DRIPA I received an update and this is what it said:
We won! The High Court has ruled DRIPA unlawful.
