Op-ed: Two years ago Boko Haram kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria.
On this second anniversary Nigerian extreme Islamist group Boko Haram has released a video which appears to show 15 of those girls still held captive.
The video however is believed to have been filmed December 2015 and previously sent to the Nigerian government demanding a ransom.
Governments worldwide have refused to pay ransoms to extremist kidnappers although some have paid up.
The 15 girls are shown in black robes and the identity of some has been confirmed by their parents.
Boko Haram has enslaved some of the kidnapped girls, killed and brutalised others and used young girls as suicide bombers.
The following is our report from April 15, 2014, when news broke of the Chibok kidnappings:
Terrorists in Nigeria have been blamed for a series of attacks during the last week that resulted in many deaths. Tuesday there are reports that an estimated 100 girls have been snatched from a school. [But it was 219 girls]
News regarding Boko Haram is not making western headlines in 2016 but the atrocities continue.
