People such as Bichard will not be affected. The UK pension is such a pittance that losing it will not matter to former politicians and the Elite. For many of us it will be the difference between surviving or not. His plan to cut that lifeline could ease the elderly burden in the UK as it will finish many of them off! One way to reduce the elderly population we suppose.
So how much is this whopping pension which you are going to have to work for? £107.45 a week in 2012 when Bichard first got on his high horse.
Presumably the minimum wage rules will not apply to the elderly but of course that will not survive much longer, will it?
People have different standards of health at all ages. At 65 some people are still fit and well, others are not. Putting all that aside though working for your pension should not be an option, unless it is work you want to do with no strings attached.
Plenty of elderly people hold volunteer roles by choice. That is how it should stay. Some volunteer in NHS hospitals and become relied upon. Remember that for every person who works as a volunteer a real job is lost. We are individuals with a brain If we want to volunteer to help a charity we will.
Bichard's words show just how low the UK has sunk. In many European countries elderly people are almost revered. Here they are the bottom of the pile it seems. We have that in common with some Third World countries.
You may not be old yet but it will come unless you take the alternative, an early grave.
David Cameron stucks to his guns in Europe and his 'plan' so that the City of London banking sector does not take a hit.
Shame none of these toffs care about the people they were elected to SERVE.
