The reason given for stopping CLP and Branch meetings of the Labour Party has been allegations of threats and criminal damage mainly stemming from the brick being thrown through the window of Angela Eagle's constituency office.
Has any evidence emerged to say it was a member of Momentum or even a Corbyn supporter? I have not seen any thus far. There are many people that get involved in violent dissent and illegal actions not through belief but for the 'rush' or just to cause trouble. In WW2 a tactic widely used by Hitler and his faction was to get troops dressed as foreign nationals and attack his own forces. This then gave excuse for a more 'radical' and 'aggressive' action of his own. I am not stating this was the case merely suggesting it seems advantageous to her for the meetings to be stopped thereby preventing any vote upon here or other Coup supporting MP's in regard to deselection. The tactics and spin used by anti-Corbyn factions has been so far immoral, underhand and undemocratic. It has been bordering and I believe at times over the criminal line. Their methods are despicable and show total contempt of us the membership along with the rest of the British People. This cannot be allowed to continue. We need to stop them and now evict them from 'our' party. This is a party for the people not self interest, greed and corruption. I feel so angry with them but would not lower myself to threats or violence. I think most socialists would feel the same. Voicing ire and frustration is not the same as assaulting someone. We are on the whole grown ups with life experience. Is it not time the PLP and NEC showed us the respect earned and due. My life has not been shouting childish comments across the house of commons, nor sleeping through debates or accepting bribes for my vote. My life has been out there protecting children, families and communities from abuse, oppression, degradation, victimisation, discrimination and poverty. In short picking up the pieces of Tory and 'New Labour' policy. It is time for change. Time for us the people to have a say in our future and our present. So NEC withdraw your ban on meetings, allow democracy to win through. We know your scared of us but only because you fear honesty, integrity and morality. I think all members would like an honest response not excuses or spin. We are not children nor fools.

I'm a reasonably new member of the Labour Party, but have always voted Labour.

I am a long time Labour voter relatively new party member. In some ways wish I had not joined. Ignorance can be bliss.

The PLP and now the NEC are becoming more and more despotic in their unhinged and sinister attack on the most decent man in Westminster. They are forgoing any semblance of sanity, any veneer of integrity and any notion that they give a rats arse about the sovereignty or democratic rights of the ordinary members of the party. They have shown utter contempt for their own rules and statutes and seem to be transforming into vicious and animalistic hydras totally blind to the fact that they have ripped out the heart and soul of the labour movement and are now trampling them underfoot and blind to the fact that in the eyes of the ordinary voters both inside and outside the party, they will be seen as a bunch of callous, inept, two faced backstabbers and that this whole debacle will split the party and end their sorry careers.
