Dear Chuka Umunna - When you read a post in the Guardian on budget day in the UK, Wednesday, titled "Labour backbenchers form high-profile group to respond to budget" you have to go to the heart of the story to try to find out what is going on.
Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader of the Labour Party in September 2015 and has faced a barrage of attacks from within Labour, the Tories and the mainstream media so Mr Umunna what's with the latest piece posted as news at the Guardian?
Is it news, spin, real or fantasy?
According to the Guardian report an "Alliance of MPs including Chuka Umunna and Chris Leslie was formed to ‘give proper scrutiny to the government’" which could be fine if the team was formed with the approval of Mr Corbyn and his shadow cabinet; if it was not why are MPs behaving in such a derisory manner?
The Guardian report continues;
A team of high-profile Labour backbenchers have organised their own coordinated response to George Osborne’s budget, fearing Jeremy Corbyn and his shadow cabinet would struggle to do so.
If that is true it smacks on another Et tu, Brute moment from the very people who should be supporting the party leader and his shadow cabinet; they could and should be sharing their former front bench experience not using it to undermine Jeremy.
But the divisions were plain for all to see from day one of Corbyn's leadership when highly paid politicians acted like spoiled children who did not win the egg and spoon race; they ditched the leader, left him to sink or swim while sticking a few daggers in his back and high-tailed it for the backbenches.
Having managed to stuff the PLP with politicians to the right of the party the Bitterites are now intent on doing the same to the NEC so that they can undermine Mr Corbyn further and tear the Labour Party apart.
Their protestations that they are doing it for the right reasons have no credibility; the road to Hell is after all paved with good intentions.
But we are all Labour and there should not be a right and left of this party but rather a left-wing political party working to hold the Tories to account with the final goal removing the Conservatives from office.
Reports in the mainstream media that simply undermine Mr Corbyn will not unify, improve Labour's standing or attract votes; and when those reports are by way of self-serving MPs, some who did not want to stand for party leader last year but changed their minds when the first real Labour party leader in years comes along the writing is on the wall.
If the Guardian post has caused anger consider worse in the Sun, Telegraph and Huffington Post helped along by a series of Labour MPs who seem unable to air their dirty laundry away from prying eyes and greedy ears who want Mr Corbyn and Labour to fail.
Sadly some voters will conclude that you Mr Umunna, Dan Jarvis and others like Jess Phillips simply want a Labour party that is a poor man's version of the Conservative party; they may also conclude that is because you have it all to gain from some Tory policies and some to lose from real Labour Party politics that tries to rebalance the rich poor divide.
The Guardian report adds;
Allies of Corbyn played down the significance of the backbench alliance, saying the leader would continue to hold the chancellor to account for “six years of failure”.
And honest ordinary people like this writer agree with that assessment.
So Mr Umunna "Who are Ya" and why are you not doing your job instead of playing politics in divisive gangs?
In July 2015 following the General Election the Daily Mirror report "Chuka Umunna: Labour 'behaving like a petulant child' after Election defeat" was aptly titled but isn't that what you and your 'team' are doing now?
Other signatories include:
And they just keep on coming, some via comments below others from Facebook groups that support Labour and Jeremy Corbyn and his team.
The consensus for this group of people, including the author, is that we are 100% supportive of Mr Corbyn and want our Labour politicians to follow suit.
Time the knives were directed across the House at the real enemy-the Tory Party.
[Updates will continue plus additional names can be viewed in the comment section below-please let me know if I have any duplicate names] Apologies to those missed on Facebook as it has been tricky to catch everyone-thanks.
April 28, 2016-No reply has been received from the Labour Party, Umunna and others.
But it is suffice to say this letter was sent to those parties and viewed extensively online and has reached the target.
If a reply is ever forthcoming I will let you know asap.

I agree completely with these sentiments and find it increasingly harder to contain my anger at these MPs determined to undermine the good work of Labour's leadership. In a week when polls show that Labour is moving ahead. These self serving career persists, throw out yet another anchor. Is it any wonder the membership feel they are closer to the opposite benches, than the membership they rely on to get them elected.

I agree with the contents of this letter. Will this 'high profile' group please sit down, accept their defeat, put the party first and let the leader and his elected group do the job of keeping Labour together. Let's go forward to win the next election.

Please include my name. I am from Barnsley and Michael Dugher is my MP and Dan Jarvis is also a Barnsley MP. They should be ashamed of their tactics!!
18/3/2016 10:42:16 am
Mr Corbyn is the reason for my re-joining the party after Tony Blair and his right wing policies forced me out. Don't take us back to being a pink-tinted copy of the Tories.
30/6/2017 05:49:27 pm
I join the Labour Party two weeks ago I'm a labour member if MPs don't back Jeremy Corbyn they should shouldn't should go this should be ashamed of themselves we are a party for the many not the few but I think they are Tories in disguise if they don't want to be part of the Labour Party go somewhere else I'm better off without you I did not join the Labour Party when idiots like Dan to do damage to the Labour Party they should be ashamed of themselves and the people they represent so you don't like the Labour Party Goodbye we could do without you Jeremy Corbyn for Prime Minister
18/3/2016 10:45:50 am
Please add my name! I'm furious with these Labour MP's not listening to members!! If it were my MP he would not get my vote next time, or ever again! The arrogance is staggering!!!!
18/3/2016 10:46:51 am
Please add my name. The party needs to work together and any MP who can't or doesn't want to work with the leader should step down you are doing your constituents a disservice.

Stop sneaking about and trying to undermine Jeremy Corbyn,he is the chosen leader, and we will follow his genuine Labour views, not the twisted "New Labour" policies which are closer to Tory lines.Get back in your cot and suck your dummy.
18/3/2016 11:06:36 am
The sheer stupidity of these people is breathtaking , so I suspect they'll just complain to the press that they are being bullied by those nasty members....but it's worth a try, so please add my name.
18/3/2016 11:17:20 am
Support your rightfully elected party leader, resign, or hold your peace. There is no wiggle room here! Blairite "Red Tories" will eventually need to be weeded out to purge the party of the wolves in sheep's clothing who have never worked a real day's labour in their life and support business over unions every time. Go and head up a charity if you want to feel self-important.
18/3/2016 11:18:14 am
Chuka, you and your group are three time losers. You lost two elections and now you have lost us, the rank and file party members.
18/3/2016 11:19:10 am
Please add my name (Chatham & Aylesford CLP treasurer)
18/3/2016 11:24:53 am
Your opposition to Jeremy Corbyn is beginning to look like support for Cameron. If that is intentional, go and join him; if it isn't, cut it out.
18/3/2016 11:25:35 am
Please add my name. Mr Umunna had the potential opportunity to lead the party and direct policy accordingly, but he chose to withdraw from the race. He may not agree with the direction that Mr Corbyn is taking the party, but that is entirely different to plotting and undermining the leadership which he and this group are doing.
18/3/2016 11:28:48 am

Chuka: you and your ilk were part of Labour's failure last May. Labour's timidity in the face of destructive Tory ideological was lambasted by the world's top economists.
19/3/2016 10:08:56 pm
They are damaging our party, knuckle down and fight the Tories.
18/3/2016 11:58:43 am
Please add my name. One thing possible to put is Scotland. New Labour was wiped out in Scotland due to Labour policies being to close to the Tories #i.e Tory lite. The comments seen from potential Scottish voters have been the obvious nationalist who will never forgive Labour for joining the Tories over the IndyRef. However, there have been some none nationalist who say that like change of direction in labour to the left but will not vote whilst the PLP continue to vote down the policies that effect them in Scotland, for example Trident.

Any members of the PLP who work from within Westminster against a democratically elected leader should be suspended. It is as simple as that.

John McDonnells economic and financial strategy is the way to get good long term growth from which the vast majority of members of society can benefit, and will fund the growing needs of an aging society.

I'm a Labour Party member and I'm disgusted with the actions of these "high-profile" back-benchers who are busily undermining the Party's leadership and contemptuous of the party's membership into the bargain. Please add me to the signatories of this piece.

18/3/2016 12:41:53 pm
Please add my name - these self styled spokespersons without mandate shunned their chances for leadership, it was Jeremy Corbyn who is wanted & needed as our democratically elected leader. I didn't vote for them even as second choice.
18/3/2016 12:42:05 pm
Anyone would think this gang of 10 are out to ensure Labour's failure in 2020 just so they can say to the left "There, we told you so!"
18/3/2016 12:42:13 pm
Please add my name. Finally we have someone with integrity and passion in charge, and we don't need 'tory-lite' people like you getting in his way.

I am sick to death of these wet behind the ears, spoilt ,self serving and quite frankly nasty conniving little individuals who do nothing but sulk and skulk around and deliberately try to undermine the Labour party. If these people ,(and they know who they are) do not want to contribute then I suggest they ship out!
18/3/2016 01:19:16 pm
Please add my name. I'm a member. Jeremy Corbyn was voted in by members of this party and MPs ultimately should be representing us, not attempting to override our collective decisions.
18/3/2016 01:22:52 pm
Please add my name. Time to accept the mandate of the membership and get on wiht supporting the leadership so we can win some elections! Had enough of the few persistent naysayers who are undermining our standing n the country instead of fighting the Tories!!
18/3/2016 01:24:40 pm
Add my name too please, I am a fervent Jeremy Corby supporter and only joined the Labour party because of Jeremy. Cant wait to get him in as PM.
18/3/2016 01:34:37 pm
Please add me too. I too have been a Labour member/supporter longer than most, if not all, those on the list. Chukka is a disgrace to the LP as well as ignoring an overwhelming vote for Jeremy Corbyn
18/3/2016 01:36:47 pm
I'm a Putney CLP member. We have democratically and overwhelmingly chosen our Leader. Please respect this and refrain from doing anything to undermine him or the party.

18/3/2016 01:46:56 pm
Thank you for including my name. I'm a Labour member, and have voted Labour all my life, but this is the first time in years I really feel there's a leader who shares my views and values. To see his own party undermining him this way, when most of us see him as a breath of fresh air, is disheartening, to say the least...
18/3/2016 01:50:22 pm
As a full member of the Labour Party, I support our elected Leader.. Jeremy Corbyn, and I am very concerned that members of the PLP are ,in my opinion, being disloyal to the Members of the Labour Party by not adhering to the official Leader of the Labour Party
18/3/2016 01:56:42 pm
Please add my name. Full Labour Party member and very angry.
18/3/2016 01:57:02 pm
Mr. Corbyn is THE leader of the Labour Party. Instead of plotting his downfall, have a look at the resurgence of our party and take on board the fact that it is he and not you who has revitalised it. Also please remember that it was you lot and NOT Corbyn that the voting public rejected at the last election.
18/3/2016 01:58:50 pm
If it is not too late, please add my name.
18/3/2016 02:03:14 pm
Please add my name too! As a full member of the Labour party and a Trade Unionist I object in the strongest terms to these MPs ignoring the voice of the rank-and-file of the party. They should hang their heads in shame.

Please add my name as a signatory, and as a Labour former Councillor of the L.B.Barnet
18/3/2016 02:04:19 pm
As my MP I expect that you reflect your constituents and as many of my peers are actively involved in opposing Tory cuts and austerity measures that rob from the poor to pay the rich, privatisation of the NHS, assaults on unions, pilfering public housing, assaults to welfare and the disabled, aggressive foreign policy and privatisation of our schools system I expect that you ought to unite behind the man who has pledged to oppose all of these things and has a majority backing of the membership to do so. I would ask that you cease your childish games and contribute to those aims.
18/3/2016 02:08:08 pm
Please could you add my name. I'm a member of the LP. Based in SW Cornwall. We are desperately trying to lift the profile of the LP here. The behaviour of this group of MPs is making it increasingly difficult to do that

If they actually tried to work with Jeremy, rather than undermine him at every opportunity, they would find that he is more inclusive than they could every be and open to reasoned discussion from whatever side of the party. In the mean time all these dissenters are doing is making it easy for the Tories to get away, quite literally, with murder. Shame on them all and if they are purged from the Party they only have themselves to blame.

your ego has no place in a socialist party..Unity is the only way forward
18/3/2016 04:49:22 pm
Jeremy Corbyns response to the budget was the best I've ever seen from anyone. Please work in unity with your party, not against it. Many people are desperate for Labour to get in, and people still attacking him as 'unelectable' is really damaging our chances. Please, please get over it! He has gained the most support Labour has had in years, so just what is it you're still not getting?
18/3/2016 04:51:08 pm

Members like me who have been a member for 35 years would appreciate it if you would support Jeremy Corbyn our Leader which we chose, and John McDonnell. In my view, the worst on record even worse than Thatcher.

I am planning on joining the Labour Party only BECAUSE of Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell. I expect all Labour MPs to support the leader, not out of selfishness and greed to wreck the only chance this country has at the next election to save its soul. If you do not agree with the democratically elected Leader the resign, leave, join the tories or the lib dems. Just get out.
18/3/2016 05:36:27 pm

I am a member of the Labour Party for Gillingham Kent. I re- joined the party after Mr Corbyn became leader. This is who WE WANT as leader. We voted for him and we support him. This is how democracy works. I urge you to remember the roots of our great party and support this great man, otherwise you will be left out in the cold. Please be part of our movement.
18/3/2016 06:12:14 pm
I thought I would ask some questions If they are so good at this why did they mess up the last election? Why were Milibands and Balls responses ito previous budget statements so inept? Why did they not provide an effective opposition, which suddenly they seem keen to say they can now do? Why have they not supported their leader in vocalising their anger at the PIP cuts etc.? I could go on but what is the point Chuka can sit in his gentleman club and plot such is the way of the petulant and disloyal.
18/3/2016 06:12:23 pm
Labour Party Member voted Labour all my life many decades, I want a Labour Party in power. You are doing a disservice to the members and the leader, disloyalty is not a quality that can be admired. I fully support the Leader Mr Corbyn and wish you to do the same Chuka.

18/3/2016 06:27:54 pm
I rejoined the Labour Party last year so I could vote for Jeremy Corbyn, having left in disgust at the party becoming dominated by Blairites like you!
18/3/2016 06:29:12 pm
More undermining. We have a fantastic shadow Treasury team led by John McDonnell, if you have anything to contribute to the budget debate work with them instead of setting yourself up in an entitled and petulant school clique.
18/3/2016 06:29:28 pm
Chuka, I was a big fan of yours until you betrayed JC.
18/3/2016 06:30:09 pm
Please add my name. The fight is with the tories and their swingeing attacks on the vulnerable, weak, disadvantaged and disabled. Any distraction is a criminal waste. Labour need to be united against false austerity and privatisation, not fighting each other. Stop undermining the elected leader and do your job!

Jeremy Corbyn & john McDonnall have been doing a great job challenging Osbornes budget. Umunna and the rest of these backbenchers need to get behind the leadership of the Labour Party or get out. This is an opportunity for the Labour Party to unite & fight the real enemy the tories.
18/3/2016 06:42:58 pm

18/3/2016 06:52:40 pm
Please add my name. I have supported the Labour party all my life, although I gave up for a while as it didn't seem to stand for anything. Now we have a Leader and Shadow Chancellor who mean what they say and are this country's best hope of redressing inequality. I am disgusted by the actions of the disloyal group who think they have a right to challenge and disrupt a leadership that has massive popular support and is turning the tide of apathy.
18/3/2016 06:54:38 pm
please add my name
18/3/2016 07:04:39 pm
Add my name please. I've always voted Labour, but after the last election failure, I was going to go Green. That was until Jeremy Corbyn put himself forward. We need a real opposition to the Tories and he can provide it.
18/3/2016 07:05:43 pm
It's time dissenters were told to get behind their leader or stop the sniping. Constructive criticism is fine but JC gets nasty gossip thrown at him . Please grow up and help this party win and put JC in no 10 to get these monsters out. Before we have no country left to govern
18/3/2016 07:08:17 pm
I'm a Labour Party member in Nottingham. Please add my name to the list. Thank you!
18/3/2016 07:09:46 pm
I'm a member of the GC of Hastings and Rye Labour Party. I think Jeremy Corbyn has done a magnificent job and really risen to his position. He has been the best Labour Opposition leader I can remember going back to 1980. He has had to stand his ground not only against the benches he faces, but the backstabbing ones behind him. Now, having spent the past half year telling him he's doing everything wrong, your group has finally cottoned on to the fantastic job Jeremy is doing and the fact that the vast majority of the party is behind him, and you think you can switch to "shadowing" him instead, in the hope of muscling in on some of his support. You are SO transparent it's hardly believable.
18/3/2016 07:11:24 pm
Please add my name to this list. I am a full member of the Winchester and Candlers Ford Labour Party. I am disgusted by the behaviour of the "Bitterites": self-serving, publicity-seeking and petulant.

18/3/2016 07:24:05 pm
You are entitled to hold different opinions on policies with the Labour Party- but stop overtly/implicitly and publically conspiring against our democratically elected leader. It is undermining and disrespectful of the majority of Labour membership and activists who are inspired by JC principles and leadership.
18/3/2016 07:50:02 pm
A message to the Price Waterhouse Cooper funded MP for Streatham Chuka Umunna and his Second XI: Please respect the democratic mandate of Labour members and support the leader. You had your chance but when confronted with the opportunity to back up your words with actions, lacked the courage or conviction to do so.
18/3/2016 07:55:16 pm
I re-joined the Labour Party the day Jeremy Corbyn was elected leader along with thousands of others. If all you Tory lites don't like having a real Socialist as your leader, then I strongly advise you to leave.
18/3/2016 08:00:12 pm
Brilliant piece Tells it just like it is. Those MPs are tearing the Party apart. They should all be made to resign
18/3/2016 08:01:02 pm
Labour Party members joined because of the return to real values represented by Jeremy Corbyn. We're behind him, why aren't you?
18/3/2016 08:08:30 pm
I think Ummuna and his cohorts have conveniently forgotten something very important: namely that the Tory-lite wing of the Labour Party which they represent LOST THE LAST TWO ELECTIONS! They are not and never have been socialists. It is time for them to go. Corbyn is the future. Blair is the past

We, members of the labour party, have had enough of you, Chucka, and your friends. We made a clear choice and we chose Corbyn. If it bothers you, Dan Jarvis, Jesse Phillips, you should leave the party and join either the LibDems or the Tories. Let Jeremy get on with his job and all of you, please,.give it a rest.

Stop this incessant divisive and mischievous conspiring and start putting the same amount of effort and commitment into opposing this vindictive and ideological Tory government. You have been at it from the day the new leadership took its position after massive support, at the behest at your mentors Blair and Mandelson. We do not want a lighter shade of Tory in the form of Blairism we want real Labour socialist opposition to this government. Do your job along with your fellow conspirators. You know your actions are worse than anything any Corbyn supporters have done. We and importantly, the people of this country need organised opposition to this extreme Tory ideology Tony Blair and his policies and record had already become a liability not an asset. Get behind the party and leadership.
18/3/2016 09:08:08 pm

When are you going to come to terms with the fact that Labour lost the last election because they were no different than the Tories. If you can't get to grips then cross the floor to join the side you should be on.
18/3/2016 09:25:59 pm
Please add my name. These Blairites just don't get it: Labour has moved significantly into a new political paradigm, quietly reflecting the concerns and needs of ordinary people and acting on them, instead of the Blairite / Tory mantra of lots of rhetoric along the same lines but doing nothing in reality except making the rich richer and the poor poorer.
18/3/2016 09:38:52 pm
Add my name please, i may not agree with Mr Corbyn on some things, however i do agree with much that he says. I thought his official response to the budget was excellent, and delivered with passion. He did win the leadership election convincingly and although i did not select him as my first choice, i accept the majority decision that was made and we must support him.
Labour Councillor Glyn Jenkins
18/3/2016 09:40:38 pm
A huge majority of Labour Party members voted Jeremy Corbyn leader of the party and thousands joined because they saw for the first time in a long time, a leader who was real Labour, and that they liked. I all of the party get solidly behind its current leader we will win the next election because by the time this Tory government has damaged the lives of ordinary people even more over the next four years in the way it has so far those ordinary folk will be ready for the radically refreshing change that Jeremy Corbyn can and will bring.
18/3/2016 09:42:21 pm
Thanks all - Everyone above this comment has hopefully been added to the letter above-many thanks for your support and I know at least WE all wish Jeremy Corbyn success,

I would like my name added. I am a Labour and Co Operative member. I have always voted and supported Labour, except twice: once I refused to vote (2002), the other I voted Green Party (2015) Both times i l didn't trust the party. Finally, we have a party I trust. I feel safe with not just with my life and our economy. Labour does as we know, have the best record with the economy. Borrowing the least amount of debt, but paying back the more also. Now we have a leader with true British values: Community, Support, Morals, Integrity, Honesty, Trustworthy, Compassion, Empathy, Faith, Strength, Hope, Inspiration and enterprising society.

Please add my name to this.. With this message .. I will never vote labour again if you tear down this party from within. What utter fools you must be to not realise you are committing political suicide. It's not your opposing views that are the problem .. they can be debated and a compromise found, but it is your backstabbing , personal attacks and vicious undermining of leftist values without a shrewd of decent policy being offered in its place. It insults not just Jeremy Corbyn and allies but the thousands of labour members who voted for him. Please rethink your very poor attitude and rejoin the fold to push forward a better politics.

Jeremy Corbyn was elected with a huge mandate. We, as a party, need to unite behind him. He s a decent man with good and honest intentions. I don't see how you can feel the need to discredit him!

misguided politicking from New Labourites. If you gain control again you can kiss goodbye hundreds of thousands of supporters who signed on for Corbyn. New Labour has had its day step out of the way. Get your act together, be a real team.

Please add my name to the list. I became a LP member because of Jeremy Corbyn and I really feel it's time for Labour MPs to stop undermining him from within. The polls show JC is steadily gaining the confidence of the public (their constituents) after winning a landslide amongst the members. Do they believe in democracy or not?

I'm disgusted by the actions of someone who did not have the courage to stand for election into the leadership post. You do not belong in the Labour party, you are there to just do harm, people like you are what made Labour unelectable.

Member of Labour Party, South East Cornwall. The PLP needs to get behind the leader the grass root members voted for and the socialist policies he is bringing Labour back to. Please use all that anger and energy in directing the fight against the Tory party, not fellow Labour members and MP's. Thank you.
19/3/2016 02:17:15 am
I am a member of Maldon CLP. I believe that Jeremy Corbyn is the members choice as Leader and the PLP should support him fully.

Never been a labour supporter but then i started to get an interest in politics in the Blair years. At least let labour be somewhat left. It's what the party was formed for in the first place after all, not to be right-wing lite.
19/3/2016 05:58:50 am
I have faith in Corbyn, he stands for True Labour values NOT Blue Labour values. I joined the Party again, recently because of the continued stances taken by the party.
19/3/2016 06:01:33 am
Hi Eileen agree totally, please add me xx

19/3/2016 08:32:08 am
I am a life long labour member. I voted for Jeremy, he has my full support. Stop undermining him and get behind him. Us Ordinary people who you work for have given Jeremy a 100% mandate. Work with him and support him and us or leave the party that you are damaging with your actions. The last increase in members leading up to Septembers election of Jeremy was because of Jeremy and what he stands for. At last we have a leader that we can vote for, believe in and trust. Understand that or you and the likes of you within the party will cost us the next election!
19/3/2016 08:43:44 am
I am a labour member and I voted for Jeremy, he has my full support. Stop undermining him, get behind him or **** off and join another party. What part of the huge democratic mandate that Jeremy has from ordinary members do you not understand?
19/3/2016 08:47:30 am

19/3/2016 08:51:37 am
Please add my name. Stop feeding the biased media more ammunition. Stop being so self serving, you are a public servant. Labour party members and voters want a united party and you have a duty to deliver a united front even if you disagree behind closed doors.
19/3/2016 08:55:28 am
Please add my name to the list above. I re-joined the LP after an absence of 20 + years because Jeremy seemed to offer a real alternative to the austerity policies of the Tories and the Blairites.
19/3/2016 09:03:27 am
My grandmother, mother, aunts, sisters, cousins and myself have all been members of the Labour Party. My great uncles supported Ellen Wilkison MP during the Jarrow Hunger march. I have been for many years and also do not recall Jeremy Corbyn attacking the policies of Mr Blair when Blair was in power. He did cast his vote against his policies but I never heard anything derisory about the then Prime Minister coming from Jeremy Corbyn. The attacks on Jeremy have been brutal and it's about time that some MPs within the party get the message that Jeremy Corbyn is what the members of the party want as leader. It would appear that the purpose of these constant attacks is to undermine the Labour Party in opposition and to divert attention away from the swift distribution of wealth by this Tory Government to the rich at the expense of the poor. Please kindly add my name to the letter to Ummuna
19/3/2016 09:08:10 am
Proud member of the Labour Party.. So proud of out leader JC and his ally JMc..onwards and upwards with you guys at the helm.
19/3/2016 09:10:51 am
Please add me. And to all those labour MPs that are backstabbing JC you are helping the Tories stay in power, get behind the elected leader and get elected.
19/3/2016 09:13:46 am
Get behind our leader or get out if the party. We don't want your brand of politics,anymore...two failures is enough.
19/3/2016 09:34:37 am
Get behind the DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED leader or resign your seat. Widdling and stamping in it just because the right wing takeover of the Labour party ultimately failed is unbecoming, and only goes to show exactly what level of respect you have for democracy - which people may remember if and when you finally manage to find a position in a party more suited to your beliefs, and which requires you to stand for any kind of election to office.
Sarah Hatch and Daniel Edwards

19/3/2016 10:03:56 am
Fully paid up member of Labour Party. Agree totally with this. If you don't Chua and cohorts maybe it's time you joined your like minded friends on the other benches. Get behind our leader and support him, not with a knife in your hand but with your heart and soul as we try to oust the vermin that are the Conservatives. Who day by day try to crush our country under their Elitist feet.

Excellent letter, please add my name. They say happiness is the best revenge. Well, success is the best revenge here. The success of Corbyn's government.
19/3/2016 11:52:19 am
The high profile these backbenchers have should be used to support the Labour Party, not rip it apart. The Tories success depends on 'divide and rule', don't make their job easier.
19/3/2016 11:59:27 am
Please add me to the list (I'm a Labour party member)

19/3/2016 12:38:50 pm
I am a member of the Labour Party (rejoined to support Jeremy Corbyn's leadership bid) Please add my name to the list. Very disappointed that many labour MP'S are still hell bent on wrecking Jeremy Corbyn's chances of success as labour leader. He was elected by a massive mandate to lead and has even more support now from the members.

It appears that the ones not supporting the Labour Leader are tory stooges.. Leave now and allow the Labour party to be what it should be and not a vehicle for career politicians.
19/3/2016 01:26:51 pm
Adding my name as a person who rejoined the Labour Party when Jeremy Corbyn won the party leadership. I voted for him and believe in him. It's about time that the 'Blue Labour' lot made their exit - Chuka & Co. are not wanted, or needed, in the Labour Party.
19/3/2016 01:51:32 pm
Please add my name. Jeremy Corbyn is doing terrifically against all adversity. He has been trying to bring morality, decency, proper intelligence and integrity back into British politics, government and his own party. Yet he gets opposition from both from the Conservative Benches mocking and refusing him to speak for more than a few seconds, and his own party who are not interested in anything except their own careers, opportunity and power nest at the cost of the British People and Country. This country is being sold for a song and all its carefully constructed internal structure disintegrated. This structure to provide stability, fairness and justice was not just here since Labour came in after the war, but right the way back to Magna Carter and King Alfred Common Law and system of hundreds and tithes, to protect the country, administer justice and help bring in revenue for the crown and raise an army if the country was under threat from opposition within or without. It is downright treason and young bucks selling off the house, home and everyone within.

Chuka umunna had to withdraw from the leadership contest because he had not been entirely straightforward in his behaviour. How he and the others believe that they can influence those of us who want decent politics is beyond my comprehension
19/3/2016 03:12:11 pm
Please add my name. Like thousands of others, I voted for Jeremy Corbyn as leader, and I'm disgusted with the anti-democratic behaviour of those within the party who oppose him. If you don't like the way we vote, leave!
19/3/2016 03:47:33 pm
I trust Jeremy Corbyn and wish him to have the full support of the labour party. I am a paid up member, I voted for him.
19/3/2016 03:49:58 pm
I am a socialist and was a member of the Labour Party until Clause 4 was removed when I resigned my membership. Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonell and the MPs who unite behind them are the best thing that has happened to the Labour Party for the last forty years. The clue here is in the title, the "Labour" Party. Here to protect and promote the interests of the ordinary people, representing those who are suffering as a result of 37 years of constant government on behalf of the privileged. The Labour Party came into its own after a catastrophic split in the Liberal Party in the early 1920s. Don't let the Labour Party cease to exist because of a catastrophic split of its own almost a hundred years later. Get behind the party leadership, work to serve your constituents and pull together to start the thankless task of trying to undo all the damage that has been done in the last 40 years. Or go your own way, but not as members of the Labour Party.

It is about time all M.P's realised that we the electorate are 100% behind Jeremy Corbyn.

please add my name - Labour member and otherwise fan of Mr Umunna (so do the right think Chucka)
19/3/2016 04:07:49 pm
Criticism is healthy and democratic ... Constant bleating and bitching to the media is sabotage and has no place in the Labour Party

I can only think this G10 arrogant 11 are set on maintaining power fro the Tories. Please add my name
19/3/2016 04:52:19 pm
The Bairites in Labour need to get over the fact their three candidates didn't get voted in to the leadership. If they don't like who the party membership democratically chose they can surely find the door, or do they need some help?
19/3/2016 05:10:45 pm
Labour Party member, Milton Keynes North.
19/3/2016 05:25:05 pm
The failure to win 2 winnable elections is ye fault of the Blairites. The attitude of ye general public is the legacy of the blair years and the failure to be anything other than a slightly pinker version of the tories. Remember thatchers words "my finest achievement is Tony Blair and new labour). Not only the party but also large parts of the population are far more left wing than the plp. The tories only managed 24% of the vote. Why are you destroying the labour party for a sniff of this minority.
19/3/2016 07:25:12 pm
If the right are serious about winning in 2020 they should listen to what the public and what labour party members want. Dignity in politics is not achieved through personal narcissism and pursuing a vain self important agenda. MPs are elected to represent their constituencies and we expect open debate and discussion over political issues not personally motivated bullying and manipulation to achieve a minority self centred objective. If you have something to say, say it upfront in an open room , have that debate and move on.
19/3/2016 07:53:35 pm
Please either refrain immediately and Co operate with the direction determined by the party, the members. Or please leave. You are damaging the Labour Party.

I am only a Labour Party member old enough to be Umuna's dad, so of course I don't count at all. But if he was intelligent enough to understand I would have to tell him that parties which fail to follow their properly elected leader inevitably - and rightly - end up in the gutter. Which is where he belongs.
19/3/2016 08:28:02 pm
This spoilt lot need to remember that the Party is member run, democratic and inclusive...it is not run by a few self-appointed grandees and holders of the higher moral ground(as they see themselves).

Please add my name. I think Chuka is barking up the wrong tree. Jeremy's response to the budget was superb and recognised as such by us all and media.

Jeremy Corbyn was Elected as Labour Leader by a Landslide Vote. If you do not like it, it is not Jeremy who should go, it is you!!
20/3/2016 01:37:04 am
Disgusted by the craven undermining of the parties elected leader. These people need to get behind Corbyn, support him and the real opposition that Labour is providing for the first time since I've been able to vote.
20/3/2016 09:16:02 am
Remember that you lost two general elections. The only way to win is to work as a united party. Get behind Jeremy Corbin and you've a chance. Carry on as you are and you'll be in the political wilderness forever.
20/3/2016 10:15:07 am
After years of apathy with politics, I came in because of Corbyn. He won by popular vote and these actions undermine the party. We should be capitalising on the dissent in the Tories, it's what got Labour in last time. Instead, this?
20/3/2016 02:12:28 pm
Please add my name. I am a Labour member who joined to vote for Jeremy Corbyn. These MP's who do not support their leader and scheme behind his back undermine the party and betray their members who want the Conservatives out. Remember who the true enemy is, or get out and join them!

Chucca, time to stop doing the Tories dirty work for free and get behind your leader in the name of party unity. A time will come to elect a new leader, but that time is not now.

As a labour party member I find your behavior reprehensible. You lacked the courage to stand as the leader of the party and now bully from the back benches. It is the collective actions of you and your colleagues that allows the media question Labours ability to govern the country not the current Leaders ability or integrity.
22/3/2016 02:00:51 pm
Back him or leave..
22/3/2016 02:16:50 pm

Well done with letter, expressed my sentiments to the letter. I have been a member since 1984, a Councillor in both Town & Unitary for 20 years. I am totally committed to the Labour Party. Under Blair after 18 years, we won 3 Elections. He was a man of the time. I cried with joy when he won in 97' I believed he would change Britain forever with his massive majorities, I believed he would destroy the Tories and change the Establishment forever. What did he do he carried on with watered down Tory policies. Yes we have the Minimum Wage which is now the normal wage for millions. Yes we have the Academies which is by the end of this parliament, will mean the Privatisation of Education. Yes we have the University places for all, with the debt of £50,000 for all who go. This is the legacy of Blair, not one ounce of Socialism in his genes. nor in those backstabbing our Leader. We have our Party back, after May fight them and go for the Cull.
25/3/2016 08:46:16 pm
Add me please. I joined after the General Election defeat in exasperation at the inept campaign devised for Ed Miliband. He was so badly advised by his team. When Jeremy Corbyn stepped forward I was delighted - a credible, inspiring Labour leader. My local party has quadrupled its membership, and is active in a strong Tory area. We don't deserve to be undermined by disaffected right-wingers.
12/7/2016 03:57:37 pm
You and second X 11 sabotaged Corbyn's Leadership from Day 1. You took away your experience and the support a new leader would expect from shadow cabinet. Then complained about chaos in main stream media undermining Corbyn at every stage. Dan Jarvis talked about a coup after EU referendum last March. It was common knowledge in the Westminster bubble. You and your 10 mates have enormously damaged the Labour Party. Childish Petulance has no place in British Politics. The electorate voted you to oppose Tories not your own leader. Your stage managed coup has delighted right wing media and in a time of crisis in the country, rather than opposing Tories you have demeaned your DEMOCRATICALLY elected leader, The Labour Party and most of all yourself as a trusted member of parliament. If Corbyn is not on ballot, do you really think a new leader would be regarded as legitimate!

I Jason Parry wholeheartedly add my name to this list. The Labour party has never been in better hands and im disgusted some within the party dont have the stones to get behind jeremy and stand for something more than their own bank accounts and city deals.
30/6/2017 11:34:05 am
Please add my name to this letter. I was never more disgusted than yesterday. Umunna may as well have joined the Tories in laughing and cheering the pay cap on our public servants. THIS was the real callenge, and more energy supporting that would have been appreciated. Umunna and his friends have NO credibility, are NOT cool, and are working to bring down our party, while its membership has worked under Corbyn to do the opposite - and worked incredibly hard! If it were not for Jeremy's insistence that we keep giving people another chance and work for unity, the majority of the membership would have seen this band of nasty, Torylite plotters out of a job some time ago! Many of their constituents would gladly see the back of them too - they were rescued this time by the snap nature of May's election. There are masses of talented and able people who would step in and support the Party with energy and loyalty, and are waiting for the chance to do just that. These plotters need to get their noses down and do some REAL work on behalf of their Party and the electorate which needs the valuable work of our strong opposition waiting in the wings for government, not daft demonstrations of divisive petulence, or they need not be surprised to find their days are numbered.

Time to move on now Mr Blair has gone and the Labour party is once again a left wing party. I'd like to say it was a pleasure but it wasn't, more embarrassing really!! I've heard the Tories are going to be looking for more MP's maybe apply there it seems to be more suited to someone as unloyal as you!
30/6/2017 01:04:59 pm
Well done all concerned. So sick of all this stuff. I reminded Mr Umunna yesterday that he is now saying something completely different from what he said last year as reported in The Huffington Post. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/chuka-umunna-single-market-free-movement-brexit_uk_57e3e201e4b0db20a6e8b057 'Chuka Umunna: We Should Be Prepared To Sacrifice Single Market Membership To Axe Freedom Of Movement."

30/6/2017 05:06:57 pm
I am in my eighties and always voted Labour, but, only joined the Party 2years ago because we have a Leader who really cares for everyone. I fully back Jeremy and John and trust them to do their best for the Country and its people. I am furious that the right in the Party are still determined to get Jeremy and John out and know that there are plans afoot to thwart any changes they want to make to be more inclusive of the membership as at the moment a few Non Jeremy supporters are making major decisions and do not want things to change. So I believe the right are planning to make sure they stay in control at the Party Conference in September, so be prepared and make sure they do not get their way

Are you living in a bubble and unaware that the huge surge in popularity of the Labour Party is due to Jeremy Corbyn and his leadership of the oarty? The only reason I (and thousands of other people) have joined the Labour Party is because of him. If your antics to try to force him from office succeed, I will leave and, I suspect, so will thousands of other people. Stop being so arrogant, be loyal to and support your elected leader. None of us support you but we do him!
1/7/2017 10:44:33 am
I became a labour supporter because J.Corbyn was for the workers and the most poor in this society. Its time for those that are againts the present leader start supporting him and the labours programme. The alternative is for them to resigned and go for election as indepedant and the labour party to put forward a candidate that support this new labour party.
2/7/2017 12:45:16 pm
Add my name please, I would like to add that if you Chuka and rest of the backstabbers are not happy with the leader and the way the Labour party is moving I would suggest you step down from your seats and allow a TRUE labour to take over, we need MP's that are 100% behind our leader and not backstabbers.
3/7/2017 06:43:43 pm
All the back stabbing and sneaking around in the shadows will not change a thing. JC is the leader of the Labour party, understand it and follow him or.... go join the Tories!. You are heading that direction with the plans you and your co-conspirators ate concocting.

Please add my name.my first vote was Wilson and I have never left Labour. This bullying is absolutely disgusting and I can only conclude the PLP involved would rather see a Tory government stay in power. They are disrespecting the wider membership and democracy. If they can't spend their time fighting the Tories they should stand aside.
6/5/2018 05:11:00 pm
There us one thing for sure Labour is at risk from traitors like this abominable Tory supporter within it Do you not realise that the membership is where it is now BECAUSE of JC NOT because of Blairites like you !! You should be sacked not just for this but looking back on your career you should have been removed a long time ago . JC is putting the fear of God in to those who own all the wealth in this country because he is clean and is there for the ordinary people who want him on their side

I rejoined because of Jeremy. His honesty and integrity shines out, unlike the lying tories who care for nothing but themselves. If umunaa doesnt like it then he should resign and cross the floor to where he belongs.

British political scene
The next General Election in the UK may not be scheduled any time soon but the British political landscape is changing. With that in mind this blog will concentrate on the political scene but with a left wing perspective. Opinion pieces and news will bring you the stories that the MSM prefer to ignore.
