Fidel Castro birthday open letter to America

Friday the U.S. embassy will be reopened in Havana, with US Secretary of State John Kerry attending. But ahead of that seeming thaw in U.S. Cuba relations former revolutionary leader Fidel Castro has published an open letter on Cuba Debate.

The following is a translation via Google of Fidel Castro's open letter.

"Writing is a way to be useful if you consider that our suffering humanity should be more and better educated at the incredible ignorance that surrounds us all, except for researchers seeking in science a satisfactory answer.
It is a word that implies few letters in his infinite content.

Everyone in our youth we hear ever of Einstein and, especially, after the outbreak of the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which ended the cruel war unleashed between Japan and the United States. When those bombs were dropped after the war unleashed by the attack on the US base at Pearl Harbor, the Japanese empire was already defeated. United States, the country whose territory and industries remained outside the war, became the richest and best armed of the earth, in a world shattered, full of dead, wounded and hungry. Together, the USSR and China had lost over 50 million lives, coupled with enormous material destruction. Almost all the world's gold went to the coffers of the United States. Today it is estimated that all the gold and currency reserves of that nation reaches 8000 133.5 tons of the metal. However, shattering the commitments made at Bretton Woods, United States, unilaterally declared that they would not honor the obligation to support the Troy ounce of gold to the value of their paper money.

Such a measure ordered by Nixon violated the commitments made by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

According to a large number of experts in this field, so they created the foundations of a crisis that threatens disasters including swatting the economy of that country model. Meanwhile, Cuba owes the equivalent damage compensation amounting to substantial billion as reported our country with irrefutable arguments and data throughout their speeches at the United Nations.

As expressed clearly by the Party and Government of Cuba, in pledge of goodwill and peace among all countries in this hemisphere and of all peoples that make up the human family, and so help ensure the survival of our species in the modest space that belongs to us in the universe, never stop fighting for the peace and welfare of all human beings, regardless of skin color and country of origin of each person on the planet, as well as the full right of everyone to have a religious belief or not.

Equality of all citizens to health, education, work, food, security, culture, science, and welfare, that is, the same rights we proclaim when we began our struggle more emanating from our dreams of justice and equality for the people of our world, is what I wish to all; which by communion in whole or in part with the same ideas, or much higher but in the same direction, I thank you, dear compatriots."

It is signed by Castro; below is the original version

Thank you for the report Eileen.

I watched Sec.Kerry's speech. It was sincere and acknowledged the past while still remained positive with hope for future diplomacy and eventually with the help of Congress removing embargos.
